Libertarians! Freedom Seeking People & Freedom Loving People of the world! According to the reports received, Toomaj Salehi, a Rapper Singer and Artist, opposing the Islamic regime of Iran, one who has been arrested, tortured, and imprisoned many times, by the security apparatus of the clergy government, has been sentenced to death on baseless, false, and delusive charges, including corruption.

The Islamic Republic’s judiciary, has issued this criminal judicial sentence, in  circumstances, in the shadow of the current international crisis, which has dealt with more repression and oppression inside Iran, by attacking the internal movements  nationwide, of women, workers, retirees, students, political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, teachers, litigants and youth, and trying to crush their widespread resistance.
Toomaj Salehi, a famous rapper, has never succumbed or remained silent, and the death sentence by the regime’s apparatus ruling clerics, is a reckoning with popular and nationwide resistance, in and out of Iran, against the expanding wave of repression, oppression and corruption of ruling cleric and its henchmen.

This action of the leaders of the Islamic Republic, has taken place in a situation where there is an epic resistance by women in the streets and against the repressive forces of the regime, and their helplessness can be clearly seen in front of the resistance and courage of the Iranian women.

The issuance of the death sentence for Toomaj Salehi, according to his defence lawyer, Amir Raeisian, has reached public attention, which is not the first nor the last criminal sentence of the Islamic regime against political prisoners or petty thieves, or drug pushers, for more than four decades of its rule, but it is the newest one. Few days ago, dozens of prisoners were executed on drug related charges.

The issuance of the death sentence for an artist who has only expressed his opinion, and presented his protest artwork, is the culmination of the Islamic government’s brutality and inhumane, and vengeful behaviour towards artists and protestors, against Toomaj’s disclosures, in regards to his detainment and torture whilst in prison.

Without doubt, the recent actions of the Islamic regime, is a message to the waves of struggles and widespread nationwide resistance, which will never be extinguished.

We, the political, social, and artistic activists, whilst condemning the insurance of the death sentence for a predominate Rapper- Toomaj Salehi, requests all human beings and defenders of human rights’ organizations, to raise their voices of protest, as loud and clear as possible, to the public opinion of the world, and interrelated and continuously demanding the execution of this abhorrent sentence.

We, the defenders of freedom of speech and opinion, demand the suspension and cancellation of this death sentence, and immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners and prisoners of conscience in Iran.
